Training for Greenkeepers
Grounds Training – Pitchcare’s Education service – offers the full range of Lantra Awards and NPTC/City & Guilds turf and ground care machinery courses which can be delivered on site for groups of 4 or more. Safe Use of Pesticides (eg PA1/PA6) and refresher training is also available.
In addition, our turf technicians have developed Maintenance courses specifically for Bowls, which are independently accredited by Lantra Awards. These enable the volunteer or part time greenkeeper to create and maintain a quality playing surface. Topics covered include examination of the underlying structure of the green, aeration, scarifying, fertilising, seeding, top dressing and addressing problems such as moss and compaction.
For groups of 5 or more greenkeepers, we can deliver a course on site at your local club or, for individuals, an Online Training version is available that can be worked through in our own time at your convenience. In both cases, the learning is accompanied by a comprehensive reference manual (circa 100 pages) which contains full colour images, line diagrams and working diaries.
