Introduction:
Historically British Crown Green Club, League and Association Fees have been paid to your Primary County for your County to pass on the fee to the British Crown Green Bowls Association. This is notification of some changes to this process for the 2027 season.
The development of the the new website and database, gives all clubs, leagues, associations and counties the ability to pay the BCGBA direct, similar to the new process for registering a new bowler.
We have plenty of time to prepare for the change. But why make it ?
The BCGBA arranges a group Combined Liability insurance policy. As a BCGBA Affiliated Club, League, Association or County, you can select a level of membership that includes protection under this group policy.
However, if insurance is processed as an “opt in” and a separate transaction away from your BCGBA Membership payment (which most currently purchase via your County), it’s deemed as an isolated insurance purchase rather than a benefit option of your BCGBA membership.
Such an isolated purchase could be considered as the BCGBA selling insurance which it is not regulated to do.
Combining the Insurance payment into the Membership Fee as an ‘opt-in or out’ as part of a single Membership transaction meets our regulatory requirements.
You can log-in here to your club, league, association & county record to access the Membership Payment functionality.
This will become available for the 2027 Season. Full details will be available in due course.
This will start when the payment gateway project is complete.
The new payment gateway for Membership Fees will not be open until the 2027 Season, so if you’ve paid your fees in 2026 to your County, they will complete the traditional processes for this year, all as normal.
So sit back and wait for more instruction on how this will work during 2026, all in readiness for 2027.
Your County Secretary or Membership Co-ordinator can log in and update your personal record to give you access. If you’re not sure who your County Officials are, they can be found in Regional Information.
Don’t Worry !!!
You can contact your County Membership Co-ordinator who can log into your club and use the new process on your behalf.
The new system is perfect for those who have access to modern banking techniques, but if your club still relies on cheques, simply send your cheque and member details to your County Membership Co-ordinator, and they will complete the process for you.
Make the cheque payable to your County Organisation.
When you are logged in, if your BCGBA data confirms that you are an administrator for more than one club, you will get the opportunity to pick one of your clubs. Just select the correct club.
If you only have access to one club, you will not get the option to choose.
