Coaching Courses

Introduction:

If you are a club, an association or a county looking to increase your membership and develop the sport, the addition of a formally qualified ‘Coach’ in your ranks can open up many avenues.

So why go to the trouble of pursuing a formally qualified individual, when the club has plenty of bowlers within its ranks that can show learners the ropes?

Why Consider a Coach?

A qualified ‘Coach’ comes with certain guarantees for both the club and those being trained.

For many organisations such as Schools, Scouts, Charities, organisations dealing with Vulnerable Adults, the reassurances that an individual has been DBS Checked, done Safeguarding Training and has Insurance Cover are fundamental. They will simply not engage with clubs that don’t have an individual in their ranks that offers this level of service.

So as a club without a Coach, you’re limiting your audience of potentials newbies and restricting recruitment activities that others may offer. Taster Sessions and Open Days advertised with a qualified Coach will probably get the punters.

Introducing 'Coach Bowls'

The British Crown Green Bowls Association run in partnership with the organisation ‘Coach Bowls‘.

Coach Bowls is committed to delivering a first-class service for all, whichever code of the game you play. They have a range of courses tailored to those wanting to be a qualified coach, as well as invaluable training courses which non-coaching club volunteers can access to help their club run more efficiently, safely, and inclusively.

The Coach Bowls courses are the only national qualifications in our sport.

More details on the varying Coach Bowls Courses are below, however registering an interest via the BCGBA’s National Development Officer is a preferred route to booking a course direct.

This allows the BCGBA to review the demand for courses and work with Coach Bowls to put them into the calendar in the most appropriate places in the country based on the demand you’re telling us about.

So, please use the below link register an initial interest.
