BCGBA Board Members visited the BTME Exhibition 2026 which is the premier event for greenkeeping and amenity sports turf professionals in the UK.
The exhibition provided an opportunity to speak to all the businesses who manufacture products specifically for the upkeep and maintenance of grass sporting surfaces in the UK, so nearly every business at the show has a vested interest in bowling greens and helping the people who maintain them, weather they are professionals or willing volunteers.
Having them all under one roof at the Harrogate Exhibition Centre was an opportunity not to be missed.
So who was there?
Company’s such as the Howardson Group, who own the Dennis Mower and SISIS Irrigation were keen to talk to the BCGBA to see how we can continue to work together for the best interest of the sport. It was interesting to see Dennis and their competitor Cobra with their Fortis range of mowers next to each other and listen to their different approaches to the same market.
I was particularly interested in talking to DLF Seeds and picking up their guide to species, diseases and pests found in grass growth. This included symptoms and plans to avoid key issues.
Businesses like Aitkens & GBR provide a huge range of fungicides, herbicides and dressings for grass growth, while Hunter Industries were one of many irrigation system specialists to see.
