Men’s County – Supplementary
The 2026 Men’s County Supplementary competition was held on August 2nd at Windle B.C. in St. Helens (Merseyside). County teams not finishing in first or last place within their group join the Isle of Man to make up the eight counties who compete in this one day ‘8 player team’ event.
Men’s County – Semi-Finals
The semi finals of the 2026 BCGBA County Championship pitched the 2025 winners Yorkshire against North Midlands and Shropshire v Warwick & Worcester at the beginning of August.
Ladies County – Round 3
The Ladies County Championship and Presidents Trophy group stages were completed on Sunday 19th July with every team still having something to battle for, either a Championship Semi-Final, a Mavis Dearden Supplementary spot or to avoid the drop into the Presidents Trophy in 2027. No ‘dead rubbers’ in the Ladies format.
Junior County – Champions
The third and final round of Junior County matches took place on Sunday 12th July where Shropshire took on Wales in the knowledge that any kind of win would crown them as the 2026 Champions. However, a slip up would result in all three teams winning a game and losing one, and with Yorkshire’s very high aggregate win over Wales in June, it would make them champions and make it three years on the bounce as the Junior County Champions.
Men’s County – Round 3
The final group game in July is where everything gets sorted out for the next months County Championship Semi Finals and the County Supplementary Championship, which are both held on the first Sunday of the month in August.
Junior County – 6 a Side
For those Counties who struggle to field a full twenty-four juniors and compete in the main County Championship event, the annual ‘Junior 6 a Side’ competition creates a great breeding ground for the superstars of the future. For the Juniors who play in this competition it provides the first taste of County team competition. There’s nothing better than pulling on a County shirt with your friends and going ‘toe to toe’ with another County team. That feeling of their first County Team competition will prepare many of these young bowlers for their path into the Men’s and Ladies County Championships. As many of them will also compete in the Junior Merit competitions, its also their first look at who they may come up against in those competitions.
Ladies Vets County Champions
The 2026 Ladies Veterans County Championship was held on Tuesday 23rd June in Wrexham. As in previous years the competition was an eight player team round robin event with four groups at two venues, Llay Miners Welfare and Gresford Village BC, with the winner of each group moving to Brymbo Sports & Social Club to play a knock-out semi-final and final.
Ladies County – Round 2
The Ladies County Championship and Presidents Trophy continued on Sunday 21st June with all teams either trying to cement their good start in May, or trying to get back into the group and give themselves a chance of main championship or Mavis Dearden Supplementary qualification in July.
Men’s County – Round 2
Irrespective of the first set of results, all Counties go into June’s second round of fixtures still plotting a way to the semi-finals. Some needed a win to keep that dream alive, but for those who started with a win in May, the chance to cement their advantage and ultimately eliminate teams in their group, always makes the second round of fixtures a fascinating day.
Ladies County – Round 1
The Ladies County Championship and Presidents Trophy started on Sunday 17th May with a full set of group games and all teams looking to make a winning start to the 2026 campaign. As usual all group winners progress to the Semi-Finals of the County Championship with group runners-up moving to the Mavis Dearden Supplementary competition in August.
