Anyone with an interest in supporting and developing bowlers can become a coach, regardless of playing level or experience.

Are coaching qualifications available ?

Yes, accredited Coach Bowls qualifications are available at different levels to suit beginners through to experienced coaches.

Does a Club need a qualified coach to run sessions ?

While not essential for basic advice, having a qualified coach helps ensure sessions are safe, structured, and effective. From an insurance perspective, Coaches have their own personal liability cover to ensure that everything is done correctly.

How can coaching support player development ?

Coaching helps bowlers improve technique, confidence, and enjoyment at all stages of their playing journey.

Is funding available for coaching courses ?

Yes, bursaries are available through the BCGBA to coaches that achieve their qualifications.

Some County organisations have additional bursaries to help grow their Coaching Network.

Where can Clubs find guidance and support for coaching ?

Clubs can access advice, resources, and updates through the BCGBA and Coach Bowls programmes.
